Clinics & Services

Health Centre Staff/Services

Physiotherapy, podiatry, dietetic and speech therapy services are also provided in the Health Centre.

Family Planning

A full range of Family Planning Services (including assessment for coils, implants and emergency contraception) are provided by the Doctors during their normal surgeries.

Maternity Services

The Doctors all provide full antenatal and post-natal services during routine surgeries. We would ask that you let the receptionist know when you are making an appointment for an antenatal or post-natal checkup.

Child Health Surveillance

Either Dr Page, Dr McDonald or Dr Stevenson carry out medical and development screening during routine surgeries.

The practice will contact you at the appropriate time to schedule a suitable appointment for your child.

Health Checks

If you are over 16 and haven’t consulted with a medical professional in the last 3 years, you can if you wish make an appointment for a health check. Those patients over 75 years are entitled to request an annual health check.

Childrens Immunisations

This is held once per week at various times and is run by the NHS Fife Immunisation Team.

It is important that babies and children are fully immunised against a variety of potentially fatal or crippling illnesses. Recall of children for immunisation is routinely done by the Health Board – those who are overdue will be sent reminders. Please contact the surgery and arrange an alternative appointment if the one sent out does not suit you.

Holiday/Travel Immunisations

To help protect against diseases contacted abroad, please fill in a Holiday Immunisation Record Form – available from reception.

Immunisations for travel abroad are given by the Primary Care Nurse and can be discussed with either the Nurse or the Doctor in the normal surgery.

Some immunisations are required to be given many months before travel and some can take up to 2 months to complete a course, so please plan early.

It should be noted that not all travel immunisations are available on the NHS.

Well Woman Services (including cervical smears)

Well woman services and cervical smears are provided by the Doctors in their normal surgeries. The Primary Care Nurses also perform cervical smears and hold a number of clinics at various times throughout the week.

We operate a computerised recall system for cervical smears. Normally women between 25 and 64 should have a cervical smear – every 3 years for women aged 25 – 49 and every 5 years for women over 50. If you are a woman in this age group and have not had a cervical smear in the last 3/5 years please contact the surgery and make an appointment to have this carried out.

Minor Surgery

The Practice undertakes a limited range of minor operations and injections to help save long waits for hospital treatment. Patients are assessed by the Doctor in their surgery prior to the minor operation or injection which is then carried out in the Treatment Room.
