There are medications the GP authorises for you to have on repeat re-order, these appear on your re-order slip. For all other medications for acute, new problems, or a recurrence of a past problem these requests need to be reviewed and authorised by a GP at the time of the request. If you use Patient Access to order medications in the free text box, the Practice Pharmacist or GP will want to speak with you before prescribing the medication. If you don’t hear from the Practice within 48hrs ring us and find out if the medication you asked for has been prescribed.
The Practice operates a computerised repeat prescribing system. Repeat prescriptions can be requested by:
- Using the counterfoil with details of your medication – this can be handed into the Receptionist at Leven or by posting it in to us (if you want your prescription sent out to you by post, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope).
- DURING THE COVID-19 EMERGENCY POST YOUR ORDER FORM IN THE LETTERBOX AT THE FRONT DOOR OR TELEPHONE THE PRACTICE. WHENEVER POSSIBLE DO NOT ENTER THE PREMISES
- WE PREFER where possible for you to arrange for one of the local chemists to order and deliver your repeat prescriptions directly to your home. If you think this option would be suitable for you, it is best to discuss it with one of the local chemists who can organise this for you.
- Ordering online through Patient Access – please click here to begin.
WE DO NOT TAKE ORDERS OVER THE PHONE FOR YOUR REPEAT MEDICATIONS. IF YOU NEED MEDICATION FOR A NEW OR PAST PROBLEM PLEASE PHONE US AS THE GP OR PHARMACIST WILL NEED TO SPEAK TO YOU.
Please allow 48 hours OR MORE for your prescription to be processed. Do not over order, or order too early.
Repeat prescriptions are monitored by the Doctors on a regular basis. Periodically the Doctor will ask patients on regular medication to attend the surgery for a review. It is extremely important that you attend so the Doctor can monitor your treatment.
